Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.?

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Do the combination light switch test.

Is the switch OK?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 4.
     
NO
     
     
     
4.
Open wire check (H/L ON SW line) 1:

Open wire check (H/L ON SW line) 1
?1.
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Combination light switch 12P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Combination light switch 12P connector No. 7
Test point 2
Body ground


Is there battery voltage?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 5.
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 6.
5.
Open wire check (COMBI SW GND(LT) line):

Open wire check (COMBI SW GND(LT) line)

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Combination light switch 12P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Combination light switch 12P connector No. 6
Test point 2
Body ground


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
The COMBI SW GND(LT) wire is OK. Faulty combination light switch; do the combination light switch test.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.?

Open wire check (H/L ON SW line) 2:

Disconnect the following connector.
Body control module connector C (28P)

?2.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Combination light switch 12P connector: disconnected
Body control module connector C (28P): disconnected
Test point 1
Combination light switch 12P connector No. 7
Test point 2
Body control module connector C (28P) No. 9


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
The H/L ON SW wire is OK. Replace the body control module.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.?
